Noida: In a significant step toward combating climate change, HCLTech, a global technology leader, has announced the recipients of the second edition of the HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas, awarding a total of $1 million to three innovative non-governmental organizations (NGOs): Osa Conservation, Daily Acts, and Ocean Wise.
This year’s grant cycle witnessed a 70% increase in applications and a 34% rise in registrations from ten eligible countries across the Americas, including the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
Championing Nature-Based Climate Solutions
Osa Conservation (Costa Rica) has been awarded $500,000 for its Climate Lifeboat corridors – a project aimed at reconnecting fragmented tropical habitats to support species migration and climate adaptation across vast forest landscapes.
Daily Acts (California, USA) will receive $250,000 to expand its community-powered climate resilience initiative. This program integrates public policy with grassroots actions to enhance water conservation, stormwater management, and climate-responsive urban planning.
Ocean Wise (British Columbia, Canada) has been granted $250,000 for its kelp forest restoration program along the Pacific coast. By addressing urchin overpopulation and deploying advanced ecological research, the project aims to revitalize marine biodiversity and safeguard coastal livelihoods.
Driving Climate Action Through Strategic Philanthropy
“The HCLTech Climate Action Grant continues to accelerate high-impact environmental projects across the Americas,” said Dr Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President, Global CSR, HCLTech. “This year’s winners exemplify how innovation, science, and community engagement can converge to address the escalating effects of climate change.”
